Acupuncture feature

Acupuncture has been practiced by the Chinese and other Eastern cultures for thousands of years. It has evolved from the ancient art of placing needles into special locations on the body to alleviate pain, improve recovery rates and increase resistance to disease.

Most acupuncture performed in the west is a combination of two approaches Traditional Chinese Medicine and Scientific. Traditional Chinese Medicine places its emphasis on restoring health by balancing physical, emotional and spiritual factors. The scientific approach has evolved over  the last 40 years, from the understanding of endogenous opioid release (natural pain killer) to the central nervous system, specifically the hypothalamus and autonomic nervous system.

At Axe Valley Dave and Christiane practice acupuncture to treat a variety of conditions. We find it most effective in treating Osteoarthritis in conjunction with traditional treatment options.
